if you wanna be my lover

This morning i was the first one to awake on a Saturday morning, it was really nice, i made a coffee and sat outside under the veranda where the vine is quickly growing around the outside, creating the perfect amount of shade from the morning sun. I read a few pages of The catcher in the rye, its all i allow myself to read each day because it's such a small book and i don't like reading it quickly, i like to stretch it out. Next dad was up which meant turning the rage music program on, and playing it through his speakers for the whole world to hear. I do love this though, it's happened almost every weekend for my whole life, and as much as id like a sleep in some Saturdays it's something that still makes me smile even if I'm covering my ears with a pillow. The reason i have mentioned rage is before my beautiful Angus and Julia were guest programming the show, which meant we got a little insight on the videos and songs they enjoy. It varied from the predictable artists like bjork, radiohead etc, to spice girls and jay-z. Tonight they are on again to show videos from musician's such as Neil young, Paul Kelly, Elvis, and even the lovely Jeff Buckley. So i don't need much convincing to stay up until 330 to watch this. ohohohohoh and every Angus and Julia video ever made will get played at the end weeeheee.
Anyway the rest of the day involved going into town with mother hen and meeting up with my Nana and auntie, we had coffee and went to this beautiful old theatre to see a musical called strange bedfellows. I wasn't informed that we were going to this theatre, i thought we were seeing it in the performing arts centre where most plays are held. This theatre that it was being held in is a very old and beautiful theatre that has been out of action for many many years and is now being used for a cinema, although the only area available for the public had been the upstairs renovated area, where i always used to look down at the old chairs and think that id love for it to be opened again and turned into a proper theatre. My mum was telling me how when she was my age this was were she saw all the bands she loved, including AC/DC, so she was also pretty excited to be there. The seats were so old but yet still comfy and in pretty good condition. It makes me think that nothing that we make now out of plastic and metal will be treasured in the future, but furniture and architecture from decades ago are seen as beautiful because people used to see it as art and actually put time and effort into making such wonderful things instead of only caring about money and time.
The play was quite good, i was probably a bit too critical of it at the time though. The costume designer must of been a bit confused i think, all the costumes seems like they were from all different decades, at the start of the play i thought it was set in the 1950s/60s, then there were girls in clothes from this time, so it got a bit confusing and unrealistic, also i swear that in some parts the actors mimed parts of their songs- but i could be wrong. All in all, i think the play raised important issues, and it was pretty fun production to watch- although i think my Nana would disagree, i had her snoring next to me a couple of times hah, shes a darling.
